Checkerboard Cookies
They always look so pretty and complicated.
I've made refrigerator cookies before and coincidentally they are also black and white (okay maybe more like golden brown and brown) so I was not really totally clueless while making them. And I work with clay I will be okay with all the kneading and rolling and pattern making.
I used the recipe that Baking Obsession used just tweaked it a little bit. More sugar, more vanilla. And I didn't wait 2 hours to a day to chill the dough. I kept fiddling with it every 15 minutes and that's probably okay since I only made half a batch which yielded 16 cookies. If they were cut evenly I would have ended with 18 cookies still a little less than I expected but mind you these are big ass cookies they're as big as my hands. And I have pretty big hands so basically they are the size of frying pans.
As for the taste the cookies are confusing. One minute they're good the next they're just okay. Maybe I have to make more to find out for sure. Yes, I would use anything as an excuse to bake and eat more cookies.
